Why I’d Pick My Homebrew Over Store Liquor, Any Day

Hey, Aditya here again.
This is a question I get often: “But can your brew really compare to what I get at a liquor store?” And I get it. The brands on shelves have been around for decades. They’ve got shiny labels, big campaigns, and that "trusted" feel.
But here’s the thing, when I started brewing at home, I stopped being impressed by branding. Because once you taste something you’ve brewed yourself, with real fruit, real spices, and no weird chemical shortcuts, you start seeing through the facade and would always choose homebrewed over store liquor (whenever you can at least).

Better Ingredients, Better Results
A lot of commercial alcohol is built for shelf life, not flavour. That means stabilisers, sulphites, artificial colouring, and sometimes sweeteners to cover up the shortcuts. My home brew? It’s clean. I know what went in, and more importantly, what didn’t.
No preservatives.
No overkill sugar.
Just good fermentation and balance.
Customisation Is Underrated
Let’s say I want a crisp, light cider with a sweet, cinnamon finish and just 5% ABV. Or maybe a stronger, spicier wine for the winter. I can brew exactly what I want, tweak it batch by batch, and have something that feels like mine, not a mass-produced copy of someone else’s recipe.
That’s not just personal preference, it’s operational control. And it’s something store-bought brands simply can’t offer.
Taste It to Believe It
This isn’t just romantic home brewer talk. We’ve done taste tests, side by side, blind, with over 12 different flavour profiles. More often than not, our brews come out on top. They’re fresher, more layered, and far more drinkable than what you’d pick up off a store shelf for ₹1000–₹1500.
And if you’ve ever struggled with hangovers? You’ll find homebrews hit way lighter. Lower sugar load, no chemical additives, and cleaner ferment = happier mornings.
Homebrewed Over Store Liquor.
So no, I don’t buy much from liquor shops anymore. Not because I’m against them. But because I’ve tasted what’s possible when I brew it myself.
If you’re on the fence, just come try it. We’re planning small community tastings, and I’d love for you to compare. Not to convert you, but to show you that better is possible.
